“I would probably go workout at Papillion Landing if the snow isn’t too bad, then come back home and bake something like cinnamon rolls or cookies while listening to Christmas music. The rest of the day, I would play board games with my family, maybe go shopping, or get cozy in my bed and read a book.” Kyleigh Hughes, 10th (Titan Legacy staff)
“I would read the ENTIRE day. I don’t have a lot of free time to read anymore, but one day with snow and a cup of hot cocoa in hand would fix all of my problems.” Samantha Dyer, 12th (South Star staff)
“Assuming this occurs around Christmas time, I would take this opportunity to slow down and get more into the holiday spirit. I would decorate my room with things I already had, but also make and cut paper snowflake garlands as well as bake and decorate sugar cookies to eat. I would go to Tannenbaum in downtown Omaha and wander, but on the drive there I would take awhile and look at all the Christmas lights and decorations. I would end the day winding down with a book that relates to the circumstances, ‘Five Total Strangers,’ a book about five people stuck in a snow storm.” Marlie Best, 11th (Titan Legacy staff)
“If I wasn’t able to go on screens during a free day I would play cards with my family and friends, or read a book!” Teleita Cooper, 12th (South Star staff)
“I’ll probably paint or draw or something artistic like that, or maybe I’ll reorganize my art supplies if I have no inspiration or ideas.” Delaney Gordon, 12th (Titan Legacy staff)
“I would sleep in and make breakfast from scratch using my moms cook books then read some of my favorite books. Then do more cooking for lunch and probably deep clean my closet or whole room, rearrange my room, catch up on scrapbooking pages, read more, maybe go outside on a walk depending on how cold it is, and probably listen to music all day with my record player!” Bailey Martin, 12th (South Star staff)
“I snuggle in bed in my pajamas, some coffee, lit fireplace, and a good book.” Conor Sain, 12th (South Star staff)
“I would wake up after sleeping in my warm bed. I’d make myself a hot coffee, and sip as I read a new book (probably about one taking place in summer). Then I would go sledding with my cousin on the north side of Papio South, on that really big hill. After sledding, I’d go home and warm up by putting on a pair of fuzzy socks, and lighting my favorite candle. Next, I’d bake some chocolate chip cookies (they MUST be gooey). And lastly, I’d do a jigsaw puzzle.” Addie Kastens, 11th (Titan Legacy staff)
“I really like to draw when I have no screens to detract me. But when that gets boring I’d probably walk over to my friend’s house and ask him to do something, since he lives close I would just knock on the door.” Ryan Erickson, 11th (Titan Legacy staff)
“I would bake the day away while reading or painting when it’s cooking!” Shianne Smith, 12th (South Star staff)
“Going bowling.” Brody Carter, 12th (Titan Legacy staff)
“I would probably finish reading a book that I haven’t had time to finish reading because I’m so busy. I’d also love to take my dog on a long walk, I’d dress him up in his little sweater he wears because he gets cold!” Andrea Jaime, 10th (South Star staff)
“I would start a new lego set. I would also bake some brownies and make hot chocolate, maybe go for a drive.” Kenna Hixson, 12th (Titan Legacy staff)
“If I had a whole snowy day to myself, I’d probably sleep in like crazy, under a bunch of huge blankets and comforters. When I wake up eventually, I’d move to sit by the window and draw in my sketchbook using the blinding light from the snow. I’ll get tired of that eventually, so I’d drag my family outside to try and build a snowman, since we never know when it’ll snow again (because we live in Nebraska). I’ll bundle up heading outside too, and wearing all those layers will also make me super warm, so I’ll probably get tired and fall asleep in the snow. I’ll get up after a little micro-nap to go back inside to sit by the fireplace with some lukewarm hot chocolate. I think it’d be nice to use our CD player and listen to music altogether too. Then I’d take another nap.” Iliana Vega, 12th (Titan Legacy staff)
