Recently, the district has shifted from physical use to a more digital style. Some new changes this year include a new hall pass system, online federal forms, yearbook orders, graduation orders, and dance tickets that are sold online.
The district app has also been attended by this shift. The most recent September update brought a new navigation bar, fixed bug issues, and a new app home screen appearance.
Families and students can connect with the district in different ways since the digital switch. With the district app, parents have access to crucial information such as grades, attendance, and lunch accounts.
This also keeps the community informed about sports, school activities, schedules, and lunch menus. Support is provided to families for help navigating the app to connect our school district with our community.
With the district app, students have convenient access to different information. This includes their online grades, lunch account, student IDs, news within the district, menus, calendars, the directory, PLV Media livestreams, and job opportunities. There are also accommodations for students without access to smartphones. These accommodations include hard copies of activity tickets, passes, etc.
The school-issued Chromebooks also give students the opportunity to stay connected.
The PLV app offers school wide information including district directories, grades, assignments, attendance, and the option to add contact information. Communities all over the district can connect through app use. Director of District Communications Christopher Villarreal provided details about the app.
