Thursday, March 9th, Carriage Hill was able to host their annual pizza bingo for the first time in 3 years. On this night of family fun, students and their families gathered in the elementary school’s cafeteria to eat pizza and play bingo together. Every time someone got a bingo, they were given a ticket to go get a free brand new book from the school. By the end of the night, over a hundred books had been given out to students.

Sixth grade student volunteers ensured the event went smoothly, helping with passing out tickets and cleaning up after the event was over. Gracie Kirsch, one of the student volunteers said “I choose to volunteer to help my school and socialize with other families at my school, and of course get free food!”

When asked about the motivation behind the event, Jamie Reed, staff member and coordinator of the event, said “It gets brand new books in kids’ hands, giving them lots to read. It’s also just a fun community event to get families together.”
