About

The Southside Scroll is the online expansion of Titan Legacy, the student-produced news magazine of Papillion-La Vista South High School, in the Omaha metro area. The purpose of the Southside Scroll is to provide coverage of newsworthy events in the PLSHS community that cannot be covered by our print publication. In addition to immediate coverage of school events and activities, the Southside Scroll features all content from Titan Legacy. The publication and the website strive to be self-funded and appreciate the support of subscribers, sponsors and advertisers.

The National Scholastic Press Association awarded Titan Legacy an All-American rating with Marks of Distinction for Coverage & Content, Text, Visuals and Presentation in 2018, and a First Class rating with Marks of Distinction for Presentation, Coverage & Content in 2019, and a First Class rating with a Mark of Distinction for Coverage and Content in 2024. The publication also earned the Cornhusker Award, the Nebraska High School Press Association’s highest award for journalistic excellence in high school publications, in 2018, 2020, 2023 and 2024. The commitment to quality evident in our award-winning print publication carries on in its online expansion.
