Yo 2024-2025 has been a MASSIVE year for Papio South. And y’know what else is massive? A year filled with big wins, bigger memories and a dual semester shindig we’ll never forget. Let’s rundown this Titan timeline one last time for the year!
The year done did startify with good vibes on August 13 as freshmen set foot on school grounds for the first time. And just a few days later, students squaded up for Streetfest on August 16, marking August’s midway with fun and connection.
On August 27 the Titan softball team took the field for their first game in Grand Junction, Colo., catching the dub 10-3. August 30 brought a volleyball face off with Millard North to do the thing for the first time in their season winning another one 3-1.
Also on August 30 the Homecoming Court dropped. To cap off the month, no cap, the volleyball team scored runner-up at the Bell West tourney on August 31.
September started strong on the 3rd with a volleyball home debut against the Monarchs, showing those royal NPC’s who was boss by beating them 3-0.
September 13 was fr overflowing with Titan tradition: Senior Sunrise at dawn, Hoco parade in the afternoon, and a big game under the lights. Zeus and Hera were revealed as Armstrong and Lingenfelter. Lingenfelter, ever in the grindset, was also named Teacher of the Year.
Later that night Loghan Lawson and Hannah Lane were crowned Homecoming King and Queen with Bryson Bahl and Nybol Dol crowned Prince and Princess.
The Marching Band made the competitive debut to their season on September 24. On September 27 construction wrapped up on their new stone patio: the Garden of the Gods. September closed on a lowkey deep note with Titans walking in the AFSP Out of the Darkness Suicide prevention walk on September 29.
October opened artpilled with the debut weekend of Titan Theatre’s newest Play Pro day show: “A Monster Calls.” On October 4, Senior Night honored Veteran-coded athletes in Cross Country and Tennis.
October 18 had not one, not two, but three senior celebrations with Senior Night for Marching Band, Football and Cheer.
Cross Country raced like the rent was due at their state competition on October 25, with Marching Band following suit just the next night after to close off their season.
November 9 brought home a huge W for the volleyball team going 3-0 at State to snag another championship. On November 12 the National Honor Society straight up built a house. November 13 was a double feature for Athletes and Thespians alike with NLI Signing Day with athletes, and the debut weekend of the all-school musical “All Shook Up.”
NHS, no cap, capped off their fall with their induction ceremony on November 18.
The holiday season pulled up with music. On December 9 the Choir cooked with their winter concert, for the band to also slay in their own concert December 10.
The new year only meant more records to obliterate and history to make on January 2 as the Boys Basketball team won the Metro Holiday Tournament for the first time in Titan history.
On January 17 competitive Cheer and Dance celebrated their Senior Night. January hit the end credits with Wrestling Senior Night on January 27 and Bowling Senior Night on January 28.
February 12 was Basketball Senior Night. On February 15, every single Show Choir group made finals. Absolute Cinema.
February 18 saw Girls Wrestling do the thing for the first time in school history by winning their first ever State medal.
On February 20 the Boys Wrestling team hit a copy-paste on the energy by taking home three medals of their own at their State competition. February 21 locked in even harder for Cheer and Dance teams where they went full send onto their State competitions.
February 22 had students eating and leaving no crumbs at Elkhorn Band Olympics from Papio South band kids with six medalists and a First Place finish in their division.
February 27 saw Lily Sherman have a main character moment to take home the State Championship in Diving. Just one day later on February 28 the ProStart Culinary Team won State (they are quite literally cooking).
March 3 brought a high key crazy W for Boys Basketball when they swept Districts. But the Unified team said “hold my tea” and went and beat the Monarchs silly with basketballing skill.
On March 5 Theatre students testified en la musica in the Capitol Rotunda in Lincoln.
March 15 was a peak flex for the Boys Basketball team winning a brand spankin new State Title in the last game of their season. But it didn’t end there for Bryson Bahl because just five days later on March 20 he was named Gatorade Player of the Year! Way to pop off Bryson!
March 24 saw Winter Winds bring home a massive W at the 2025 Regional WGI Event. The month closed with a celebration of theatrical talent at the One Act Festival on March 27.
April 12 pulled up with Prom! And with it, four young semi-adults were crowned as Prom Royalty! Prince and Princess went to Rachel Vrable and Micah Caverzagie, and their majesties themselves are Olivia Hadaway and Aiden Whitted!
Closing out the year has been great, but the senioritis is setting in fast. But hey, at least us seniors have a set last day… right? WRONG! We have to go to school for one more full day. What the skibidi ohio gyatt rizz?!
