Get a taste of culture close to home
With spring break coming up fast, so do vacations, freedom and the anticipation of upcoming events. But for those without plans, finding things to do may seem impossible. There are plenty of ways to get out of the house this spring break whether its events happening in Omaha or different things to try with friends.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 11th, in the old market, join in celebrating St. Patrick’s day by attending the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The parade route loops through the old market and starts at 10 am with free admission. There will be a various number of marching bands, costumed performers and Irish dancers walking the parade route. A family friendly activity that never fails to entertain!

Omaha Symphony Folklórico
The Omaha Symphony offers a family event on March 12th at Omaha South High School. The Omaha Symphony has teamed up with El Museo De Latino to explore various kinds of music, dance, and traditions from many different Latin countries. The concert features music from the works of composers from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Cuba, and Peru. With an admission fee of $15, visit Omaha South High School at 2 pm on March 12th to experience the captivating performance of Latin culture.

Omaha Film Festival
From March 7th to March 12th, attend the Omaha Film Festival at Aksarben cinema. The annual event showcases over 100 short films and documentaries. These screenings include advance screenings as well as world premieres of narrative features, short films, documentaries, short films and animated shorts. All of these films will be shown throughout the week long festival

Visit A New Cafe
Coffee society officially opened its doors at the end of January in La Vista, right off of Giles and Portal road. Coffee society offers a cozy, welcoming environment and has been described as the coffee shop La Vista needed. The convenient location allows for ample parking, dine in seating, and a drive through. The menu has selections from savory breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast to sweet blackberry vanilla lattes. For a fun and tasty new experience, head over to the Coffee Society.
